It’s all about Finn! He’s been in the world eight weeks now and we’ve found a little spot on the Internet to share pictures, notes and updates with his family and friends, so that his proud parents don’t blow out too many in-boxes. Check back as often as you’d like to see how we’re doing.
The First Eight Weeks

Welcome, Finn! December 7, 2006, 1:13 a.m., Berkeley. Many, many thanks to Ahma (Finn’s Rhode Island grandmother) and Joan (our doula) for helping bring him into the world, along with some good folks at Alta Bates. Thanks, too, to the McGreevys, Mays and Kees waiting so long downstairs.

December 8 at Alta Bates. The new family is tuckered out but happy.

December 9: Home, sweet home! Sign by Ahma.

December 12: Finn gets a visit from his wonderful Great-Grandma Jo.

December 13.

December 16: Finn goes for his first walk in the woods with his parents and Ahma, in Joaquin Miller Park. It’s Dad’s jogging trail, and a path we trod several times while awaiting Finn’s arrival.

December 25: Uncle Ben (a.k.a. Uncle Pudding) is here fattening us all up with scrumptious dinners and sweets. Now who does Finn look like?

December 28: In Uncle Ben’s glasses. (Finn receives his first insult: “He looks like Alan Greenspan!” says family friend Thomas.)

December 29: By the light of the Christmas tree.

December 31: Mama greets the new year with her boy.

January 1, 2007: Playing faces with Dad.

January 11.

January 16.

January 19: So many wonderful new faces.

January 20 with Mama.

January 22 with Dad.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s January 25, and not only is Finn flying, he’s starting to “talk,” much to our delight.

January 26: Grandma comes to stay the night and give us parents our first date in months. Two and a half hours away, for a yummy sushi dinner! We swear we spent a good 10 minutes of it talking about something other than our son. Thanks, Grandma Anne.
