Here are a couple of videos from last week. In the first, Finn finds his dad’s nose-blowing funny. The second is from our trip with Uncle Tom and Uncle Ben to the Monterey Aquarium on Saturday (they’ve gone back to Maine now — sigh — but we appreciated their visit). Wishing everyone a happy 2008 — 2007 has mostly been a really good year in these parts!
It’s been a full December, with many wonderful visits and much catching up to do.
First of all, Ahma flew in for Finn’s first birthday. Then we had a little party with family and friends (thank you all for coming, and for the great toys and gifts!). Finn’s Uncle Ben and Uncle Tom have been here to celebrate Christmas, and yesterday his Grandma Anne and Great-Grandma Jo stopped by.
In that time Finn has started to walk. He can find his nose. He can say “moon” and loves to say “hi.”
Here are some pictures of the past weeks.

Ahma gave Finn a great little wheelie bug.

Cupcake time at his birthday party!

We take a walk along the Albany waterfront with Ahma, and spot a remote-control plane.

With Ben and Tom here, we take a ferry into the city for some Christmas-Even dim sum. What a gorgeous day!

We walk through the Hyatt for a look at the lights.

Finn loved the visit from Grandma Anne and Great-Grandma Jo yesterday.
He’s taken to walking us around by the hands these days, or even better, holding one of our hands in one, and with the other grasping an apple or a ball (so much more convenient than the peg-leg crawl otherwise required to carry something!). He stands for minutes at a time before plopping down. He points at planes. He sort of says (ba)nana and gato (cat). He hugs and tickles and gives raspberries (we’re working on the kiss). He studies his books and laughs at the jokes — especially “ALL FALL fall off the wall!” in Hop on Pop, and the sea-of-chicks ending to Coco Counts: “When we count to 100 will the whole world be yellow?” He pumps his fist to just about any music (!) but especially likes to rock out to the Foo Fighters. He sticks out his tongue a lot in concentration. He makes a mean truck sound and finds the car or the ball or the sock if you ask for it.
One year ago he was not even six hours old, soft-limbed and wide-eyed. Now he’s one and we’re so happy he’s with us!
